Reservation Program Announced for Encore at Columbia Station Condominiums
Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty & BDR Urban to commence reservation event on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 with a unique rent-to-own opportunity.
On February 13th, executives of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) and BDR Urban announced a reservation program for Encore at Columbia Station Condominiums, a 96-unit community planned at 4689 Martin Luther King Jr. Way South in Columbia City. Prospective buyers are encouraged to attend a “pop-up” open house on Saturday, February 23rd at the Sonata Apartments, located at 3000 S. Alaska Street Wy in Columbia City.
A limited collection of homes will be available for reservation with a $2,500 fully-refundable deposit, which will be converted into a purchase and sale agreement in spring 2019 when the sales center opens. BDR Urban released the following preliminary floor plan options in anticipation of the event:
Studio / One Bathroom | (349 to 483 sq. ft.) | from below $300,000
Urban One Bedroom / One Bathroom | (495 to 569 sq. ft.) | from below $400,000
One Bedroom / One Bathroom | (505 to 670 sq. ft.) | from the low $400,000s

In response to affordability challenges in Seattle, BDR Urban will provide an option for consumers to rent from Sonata Apartments (located across the street from Encore) with a portion of their lease payment credited toward a future purchase at Encore. According to a press release, “the first twelve qualified homebuyers that reserve and later purchase at Encore at Columbia Station will be granted the opportunity to rent at Sonata Apartments with up to 15 percent of the total lease payments being credited back to the homebuyer at closing.”
Encore at Columbia Station will afford condominiums with vaulted ceilings, expansive walls of windows, engineered hardwoods, and European-inspired kitchens. A suite of amenities will include a concierge, co-working lounge, fitness center, and great room with an exhibition kitchen and patio. An expansive rooftop terrace will feature an outdoor BBQ area, dog run, wraparound terraces, fireside seating and an outdoor theater. The rooftop and many of the homes offer spectacular views of the Seattle skyline and Mount Rainier.
“We are excited to be commencing with unit reservations and will soon welcome our newest homebuyers to the community,” Richard Obernesser, president of BDR Urban, said in a statement. “As Seattle faces a mounting housing affordability challenge, we are proud to offer brand new, efficiently-scaled and attainably-priced condominiums to the market.”
